Editorial policy
Earn Path exists to give South Africans honest information about earning extra income, online and in their community. This is how we keep it honest.
Sources first
Every opportunity page and guide lists its sources with the date we checked them. We prefer primary sources: SARS, the FSCA, the Consumer Protection Act, providers' own fee pages and published data. Where evidence is thin, we say so and mark our confidence as low rather than guess.
No paid rankings
No platform pays to be listed or ranked, and we do not earn commission from the platforms we mention. Our ranking comes from the scoring method set out on the methodology page.
How drafts are written and reviewed
Some first drafts are prepared with help from AI writing tools working from our research notes and sources. A person reviews every guide before it is published: checking facts against the sources, removing anything we cannot support, and making sure it is useful for someone in South Africa. Pages show when they were last reviewed.
Reviews and updates
Fees, tax tables and rules change. We recheck opportunity pages and tools on a schedule, and sooner when a provider announces changes. Figures used by our calculators show the date they were checked.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, tell us. We fix confirmed errors promptly and update the review date.
Not financial advice
Earn Path is not a financial services provider and does not give financial advice. Our content is general information to help you plan.
