How a small car wash works

  • Lesson 1 of 23
  • 5 min read
  • Free lesson

You wash, dry and vacuum cars for a fixed price, either at a spot with water or at customers' homes and offices.

Two ways to start

  • Mobile: you go to the customer with buckets, products and a vacuum. No rent, but you need transport and water at their place.
  • Fixed spot: customers come to you. You need permission from the owner or municipality, water and drainage.
What sells

exterior wash, wash and vacuum, interior clean, tyre shine, and monthly packages for regular customers.

Water matters

use buckets and a bucket-and-mitt method, and follow your municipality's water restrictions.

A good sign: paying customers in your first week, and one regular customer by week three.

Do it now

Tick it off when it is done. Your ticks are saved on this device.

Quick check

Pick an answer to see how you did.

In a typical case, how long until the first money comes in?

Your challenge

Check it before you spend

Count cars passing your spot in an hour.

You are done when:

  • You wrote down what you found
  • You know whether to carry on or adjust

You report this yourself. Nobody checks, so it only counts if you really did it.
